How a card number is checked
On the card above.
A card number carries its own error check: the last digit is chosen so that a sum over all the digits comes out as a multiple of ten. A typing slip almost never does.
- From the right, leave the last digit alone and double every second digit before it.
- If a doubled digit is above 9, subtract 9.
- Add everything up. A multiple of ten means the number is valid.
| Digit | 4 | 2 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 2 | 4 | 2 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Counted as | 8 | 2 | 8 | 2 | 8 | 2 | 8 | 2 | 8 | 2 | 8 | 2 | 8 | 2 | 8 | 2 |
- Sum
- 80
- Remainder
- 80 mod 10 = 0
- Verdict
- valid
Change the last digit and 4242424242424241 sums to 79, leaving 9 — rejected.
Six ways to generate
Tabs of the same studio.
Quick
One click, one card on a random network.
Advanced
Choose the network and a billing profile, and how far away the expiry falls.
BIN lookup
Type a prefix to see which network it belongs to, and generate cards from it.
Bulk
Up to 1000 cards at once, exported as TXT, CSV, JSON, SQL, XML or YAML.
Developer
One number three ways — raw, formatted, masked — with the pattern that matches its network.
Negative testing
Numbers that should be refused: failed checksum, wrong length, expired card, bad CVV.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are these real credit card numbers?
No. All generated numbers are test numbers that pass Luhn validation but are not linked to any real accounts. They are algorithmically generated based on public BIN/IIN ranges and are safe for development and testing purposes.
Is this safe to use?
Yes. All generation happens entirely in your browser using the Web Crypto API. No data is ever sent to any server, no history is stored, and no credentials leave your device.
What is Luhn validation?
The Luhn algorithm (ISO/IEC 7812) is a checksum formula used by all major credit card networks to validate card numbers. It detects single-digit errors and most adjacent digit transpositions.
Can I use these numbers in production?
No. These numbers are intended for development, testing, and QA purposes only. For production, use real card numbers issued by financial institutions.
