Convert video without uploading it.
Drop a file or paste an m3u8 link. FFmpeg runs in this tab — and when only the container changes, the streams are copied instead of re-encoded: seconds rather than minutes, and no generation of quality lost.

The same picture in a different container — or a different codec when you need one.

Fit a limit without the quality falling off a cliff.

The audio, a short loop, a single scene.
2How it works
Choose a source
A file from your device, or a link. An m3u8 playlist is read, its qualities are listed, and its segments are fetched and joined here.
Pick the output
A format, or a preset for wherever it is going. The studio offers only the codecs the engine in your browser can actually produce.
Convert
FFmpeg runs in this tab. The progress is real and you can stop it. Nothing is queued on a server, so nothing waits behind someone else's job.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this video converter free?
Yes, completely free. All video conversion happens in your browser using FFmpeg.wasm. There are no limits, watermarks, or hidden charges.
Are my videos uploaded to a server?
Files you pick from your device are not: they are decoded and encoded in this tab and never sent anywhere. The one exception applies to links — if a stream's host does not let browsers read its files, the segments are fetched through our proxy and passed straight to your browser. Nothing is stored there.
What is the maximum file size?
About 500 MB for a file you pick, and around 2 GB for a stream assembled from a link. Both are limits of browser memory rather than policy. Changing only the container copies the streams instead of re-encoding them, which is far lighter on memory and on time.
What formats are supported?
We support MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV, WEBM, GIF for video, and MP3, WAV, OGG, AAC, M4A, FLAC for audio.
How much can I compress a video?
Compression depends on your source. Typically you can reduce file size by 50-80% using H.264/H.265 with minimal quality loss.
What is the best format for YouTube?
YouTube recommends H.264 video with AAC audio in an MP4 container. We have a dedicated YouTube preset with optimal settings.
Does WEBM support transparency?
Yes, WEBM supports alpha channel transparency, making it ideal for overlays and graphics with transparent backgrounds.
Can I extract audio from video?
Yes. Upload a video, choose Extract Audio, and select your preferred audio format — MP3, AAC, WAV, FLAC, or OGG.
